Despite being a promising strategy, current chemotherapy for gastric cancer (GC) is limited due to adverse side effects and poor survival rates. Therefore, new drug-delivery platforms with good biocompatibility are needed. Recent studies have shown that nanoparticle-based drug delivery can be safe, eco-friendly, and nontoxic making them attractive candidates. Here, we develop a novel selenium-nanoparticle-based drug-delivery agent for cancer treatment from plant extracts and selenium salts.

The most important thing about research is the ability to be consistent and remain interested in the field you are doing. Research instilled in me a character of belief in one’s ability and lifetime learning, not necessarily about the research at hand, but about life and how to navigate it in general.
4. 이 분야로 진학하려는 후배들 또는 유학준비생들에게 도움이 되는 말씀을 해 주신다면?
Don't worry too much about the future. Go ahead and do what you want to do. I am also an international student. I also had a lot of worries before coming to Korea. But when you really take this step bravely, you will find that many worries are unnecessary. A good start means half the battle.
5. 연구 활동과 관련된 앞으로의 계획이 있으시다면?
Yes, our group is working on selenium-based nanoscale materials. In addition, we hope to use the invented nanomaterials for further clinical research, so as to further realize the production transformation of the research.
